I have a healthy appetite for music. I loved the era in which I grew up, The 70's. I absolutely love ABBA, The Carpenters, Olivia Newton-John and all of the 70's rock and I was one who loved Disco and still do. I equally loved The Philly Sound, Jazz, and Classical Music. At a very young age, I absolutely loved Motown and it felt to me like I was actually there. It was all about The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Temptations, and Marvin Gaye and then there was this one very special voice that I was drawn to. I remember one night my sister Teresa and I were getting ready to go roller-skating and "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing" came on the radio; I asked her, "Who is that woman singing?" She said to me, "Tammi Terrell and she died" from that point on, I wanted to learn more about the lady and voice that touched me so deeply.  It was always in the back corners of my mind and anyone who knew me knew I wanted to write a book about Tammi.  In 2001, I began to get very serious about doing this project. I worked with some of the most talented executives, producers, and writers around in television. I began to pick people's brains, seek advice, and talk to people who did projects like this. I began to write freelance and gain some experience. I would write reviews and environmental articles for the local papers and I knew a lot of singers and musicians so they would ask me to write reviews for their press kits and web sites. My friends encouraged me to pursue this. I knew I wanted it to be special and the advice given to me was I would have to get Tammi's family involved, so I sent Tammi's sister, Ludie Montgomery a letter. I was able to find Ludie in Philadelphia, she still residedthere with her family, we bonded immediately. Ludie had already began writing her memoirs and she  had put it aside for a while. Our creative partnership produced the book "My Sister Tommy, The Real Tammi Terrell" It was released in June 2005 by Bank House Books in England.
Ludie and I worked diligently to bring Tammi's story to her public.

Hi ya'll my name is Ludie Montgomery, I am extremely excited and grateful to be a part of this site and yes I am a friend of Vickie's. Vickie and I collaborated on our book "My Sister Tommie, The Real Tammi Terrell"
It was destiny that allowed Vickie and I to come together.

I started my writing experiences about ten years before I was introduced to Vickie via mail. I  packed and stored my wonderful memoirs way back in the closet after many years and attempts in seeking a publisher. Then as luck should have it, I received a letter in the mail from a lady from Los Angeles who wanted to work with me to develop my story, and that we did. Now everyone gets to know the same Tammi that I knew and grew up with and adored. All our work and effort has culminated to what I believe is the only true biography of my sister, the late great Tammi Terrell!

Much love to you all,
Ludie
