Here are the awards for Marlene Barrow, Jackie Hicks, and Louvain Demps. The theme of this years Hal Awards was "It takes a village" The Andantes were certainly a major part of the village in helping to define and create the Motown Sound...

70's Supreme, Susaye Green and Sylvia Jahshan. There was a gathering, autograph session, and book signing at Janie Bradford's Shop in Beverly Hills. Susaye turns out to be a very close neighbor of mine and we car pooled together during the Hal Awards Weekend.

In June 2006, I went to Detroit to work with the ladies on the book and get some great pics for the book. We had photo sessions at various locations in Detroit including Hitsville. Here's me with my lovely ladies and their good friend Yvonne. We had a blast in Marlene's basement listening to all the old Motown tracks.

The Andantes held a BBQ in Detroit and a lot of their friends and family came including some of their legendary colleagues. ( Left to right, Louvain, Carolyn Crawford, Martha Reeves, Marlene Barrow-Tate, Kim Weston, Jackie Hicks, and Funk Brother Joe Hunter in front. )
