I want to talk about diet and writing. I believe what worked for me can work for
you. I was a skinny, unhealthy, out of shape person. I was surviving on sugar,
caffeine, and little sleep.
Sugar and caffeine was the fuel I used for my busy work life and the projects I
work on. Working at the studio there is always food around, especially donuts. I
would start my day with two or three Krispy Kremes and end my day with them
as well, add to this that my days are very long so pizza and coffee late at night was
the norm. I loved donuts and coffee and with so much food around on all of the sets,
I had a little snack on every sound stage that I worked on. I can tell you that most of
the snacks were not healthy.

A vegetarian friend of mine from Sweden, her name is Angelika, was interning on Drew Carey and she would make me eat a salad. So that was a start. I took for granted my metabolism and I put a lot of junk foods into my body.
When it came time to write the first book, I felt a little clogged. I had trouble starting the process and getting focused. I could not get quiet and meditate on the work ahead of me and I felt overwhelmed by it. I sought a spiritual cleanser named Susan who advised me to get rid of the sugars in my diet. She told me it would help with my overall energy and also help my creativity to flow better. My friend Lynette Turner began sending me the daily quote from The Kristin Coach web site and that became essential in helping me. I soon began coaching sessions with Kristin. In addition to helping me become focused and disciplined, my writing coach Kristin Taliaferro guided me through much healthier eating habits and I was able to get my energy and creativity flowing. She encouraged me towards organic and natural foods and much healthier eating choices and she lectured me on the importance of drinking enough water. The clarity that came from the combination of a good diet, water, and structured coaching helped me write the first book in seven months. After years of research and interviews, it was time to piece it all together and get down to the writing with Ludie. I hold a very full time job, so it was a testing time for me as I had to make different choices in life all
from diet, sleep, to my social calendar. Everything had to change for me to tackle the task at hand. I noticed when I cut out sugar and caffeine I actually did last longer at the computer key board and my creative juices were flowing.
